2015 Mileage Rates Announced

The IRS has announced that the standard business mileage rate will be 57.5 cents for 2015, up 1.5 cents from 2014.  Medical miles will be be 23 cents and miles driven for charity will be 14 cents.

2014 Tax Filing Season Delayed!!

IRS announces that 2013 tax returns will not be accepted until at least January 28th and possibly as late as February4th due to the government shutdown.  Remember we can still prepare the return it just can’t be E-Filed until the IRS is accepting returns.

IRS Announces 2014 HSA Amounts

The amount that can be contributed to an HSA for Self-Only coverage will increase $50 to $3300 in 2014.  Family coverage plans will increase $100 to $6550.  If you are 55 or older you will be allowed a $1000 catch-up contribution as well.
