McKern Financial Group was formed when Pfeifer Tax & Financial Services, founded in 1985 by Hilbert B Pfeifer Jr., joined with McKern Investment Services in 2004. We have been serving our clients in our Kasson office and in their hometowns for over 22 years. The company has experienced numerous changes in the past few years, but our commitment to you remains the same. We strive to provide high quality, cost-effective services and products that meet your unique needs.

Our staff consists of four full time and seven part-time professionals and support staff. We take our responsibility to you seriously and are dedicated to ongoing education and being informed professionally. We also know our limitations, seeking other qualified professionals when needed. Our company has relationships with local attorneys, real estate professionals and CPA firms to ensure that our service to you is appropriate, high quality and cost-effective.

Full Time Staff:

 

Chris McKern  is an enrolled agent and handles the business and farm taxes in our office. He has owned his own business for over 15 years and enjoys working with other business owners. Chris stays involved in the local community by serving on the board of several organizations including the KM School Board. He is married to Candy and has 4 children; Anna, Jim, Abbey and Conner.


Candy McKern  is an enrolled agent and handles the individual tax, accounting and payroll services in our office. She has been working at McKern Financial for over 13 years. Candy is involved with the Kasson Festival in the Park and serves as the finance chair for the organizing committee. She is married to Chris and has 4 children; Anna, Jim, Abbey and Conner.


Julie Schneider  is our service specialist and has been with McKern Financial for 3 years. She assists in every area of our company and is a master at organization. Julie is involved in her community and church. She is married to Rich and has 2 children; Bruce and Kelli.


Jon Fish  is a 2009 graduate of University of MN Duluth, he works with accounting and payroll clients full time. Jon is involved in coaching youth hockey in Kasson and enjoys the outdoors.

2015 Mileage Rates Announced

The IRS has announced that the standard business mileage rate will be 57.5 cents for 2015, up 1.5 cents from 2014.  Medical miles will be be 23 cents and miles driven for charity will be 14 cents.
